Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI)

HSNRI is a state-of-the-art research facility that also conducts research about Northern Ontario populations. HSNRI focuses on vaccine development, cancer research and healthy aging. HSNRI is the affiliated research institute of Health Sciences North, Sudbury’s academic health centre. HSN offers a variety of programs and services, with regional programs in the areas of cardiac care, oncology, nephrology, trauma and rehabilitation. Patients visit HSN from a wide geographic area across northeastern Ontario.

Sudbury is home to a skilled health care and life sciences workforce. Our post-secondary institutions, including the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, help to recruit a skilled workforce to further attract funding, students and researchers in this sector.

Health Sciences North (HSN) is an academic health sciences centre that serves Northeastern Ontario.  HSN offers a variety of programs and services that meet many patient care needs, with leading regional programs in the areas of cardiac care, oncology, nephrology, trauma and rehabilitation. As one of the largest employers in Sudbury, HSN has 3,900 employees, over 280 physicians, 700 volunteers.
