Established June 1, 1988, The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is a crown corporation and development agency of the Ontario government that invests in northern businesses and municipalities through conditional contributions, forgivable performance loans, incentive term loans and loan guarantees. Youth Internship and Co-op
- Renewable Energy Planning
- Businesses and not-for-profit organizations involved in the energy sector that intend to create renewable energy projects are eligible. Assistance may be provided for engineering and design costs and environmental studies required to undertake the project development.
- Internal Energy Generation
- Businesses and not-for-profit organizations that intend to establish energy generation systems for their own use and that reduce demand on external energy sources are eligible. The project must generate energy (heat, electricity, bio-fuels or a combination of heat and power) from a renewable energy source.
Private sector and public sector employers located in Northern Ontario involved in the following areas: health care, social services, value-added manufacturing, emerging technologies, environmental sciences, and other activities that will result in an economic or social development advantage for Northern Ontario.
